Mission & Objectives
What MD Acumen exists to do, who it exists to serve, and the measurable objectives against which the platform is evaluated.
Last editorial review: 14 May 2026 · Next scheduled refresh: 1 December 2026.
The mission
To equip UK primary-care clinicians — GPs, prescribing pharmacists, advanced clinical practitioners, and nurse independent prescribers — with FHEQ Level 7 credentialled competence in the most rapidly-evolving therapeutic domains of contemporary general practice: the SGLT2-GLP-1 cardiorenal-metabolic axis, the HRT and fezolinetant-led menopause and andropause transitions, and the CGRP-era clinical management of headache.
To ensure that the credential earned at MD Acumen is recognised institutionally — by NHS England, the Royal College of General Practitioners, local Integrated Care Boards, and the European Higher Education Area — and individually, on the holder's CV, transcript, and NHS ESR record.
Four measurable objectives
Clinical authority
Every PGCert graduate demonstrates documented competence at FHEQ Level 7 against the QAA UK Quality Code descriptors. The Capstone, marked by an external examiner and signed off at the NVU UK Campus examination board, is the certification instrument.
Editorial currency
The curriculum is anchored to the eight pivotal UK and international guideline shifts of 2024–2026 and refreshed quarterly at the 1 December cadence. No content within the credentialled curriculum is older than twelve months at the point of cohort delivery.
Service-design transfer
Every PGCert includes a service-design microcredential (Module 4 of each programme) that translates the credentialled clinical authority into operational clinic-level change. The Capstone format options include a Quality Improvement Project and an audit cycle.
Institutional portability
30 ECTS per PGCert, Bologna Process compliant. Recognised across the European Higher Education Area. Stackable into MSc and PhD progression routes at European universities without re-evaluation.
Three audience cohorts
The mission is operationalised through three audience cohorts, each served by a distinct platform surface:
Individual clinicians
UK GPs, prescribing pharmacists, advanced clinical practitioners, and nurse independent prescribers seeking FHEQ Level 7 credentials. Served through /academy with PGCert enrolment and free Mini-module access.
Institutional commissioners
NHS Integrated Care Boards and Training Hubs commissioning extended-scope workforce capability. Served through /partnerships/inquire with cohort-of-thirty commissioning and Capstone audit alignment.
International academic partners
European, Middle Eastern, and Asian medical schools seeking ready-to-deliver postgraduate programmes with NVU UK Campus awarding. Served through curriculum-integration discussions with NVU governance support.
